1. Make Homemade Valentine’s Day Dog or Cat Treats
As pet owners, we know the way to our pet’s heart is through their stomach. Your pet will love spending extra time with you in the kitchen, especially when they find out you’re making treats for them! Pumpkin Peanut Butter Dog Treats, Recipe from ASPCA
- 2 ½ c. Oat Flour
- ½ c. Unsweetened Applesauce
- 2/4 c. Pumpkin Puree
- 3 tbsp. Peanut Butter
“Preheat oven to 350·. Combine ingredients well. Roll out ½ inch thick and cut individual biscuits with a cookie cutter. Lay out on a greased cookie sheet and bake for 40 minutes or until crunchy. Allow your pup to cool completely before letting it enjoy itself! Keep for up to one week in a sealed container.”
Kitty Croutons, Recipe from ASPCA
- 5 oz. can Tuna
- ½ c. White Cornmeal
- ½ c. Rice Flour
- 1 Tbsp. Dried Catnip
- ½ c. Water
“Preheat oven to 350·. Drain and dispose of water from tuna, then combine ingredients well. Roll small pieces into Kitty Croutons by hand. Lay out on greased cookie sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes or until browned and crunchy. Allow your cat to cool completely before letting it enjoy itself! Keep for up to one week in your fridge.”
2. Explore Somewhere New for Valentine’s Day With Your Pet
New places, new sniffs, new friends! If you have a friendly, social animal, try taking them somewhere new! Spend some quality time together exploring a new neighborhood, a new park, or a new beach. One picture is all snoot; the next is all wiggly butt. As hard as they may try, animals are not great at selfies.
