Shedding and keeping a clean home is the bane of many pet parents’ existence!
Space Coast Pet Services wants to help you navigate the land of vacuums by outlining the top best pet hair vacuums. Here are summaries of the top pet vacuums and their estimated prices.
Bissell 20431 Powerglide Lift Off Pet Plus Upright Bagless Vacuum
Estimated Price: $175
The Bissell 20431 Powerglide vacuum has tools that allow for the removal of hair from difficult places, including upholstery, stairs, and other spaces where pet hair accumulates. This vacuum also has the Febreze pet odor filter that removes pet odors and leaves the air fresh and clean smelling.
It offers two attachments for removing pet hair; one is the tangle-free turbo pet hair eraser that removes pet hair with a cleaning action. The other is a gentler tool that’s ideal for removing lighter hair that attaches to upholstery and soft fabrics. The lift-off canister is easy to remove and the ability to carry it in one hand to get to those difficult areas where pet hair collects. This feature also makes it easier for cleaning stairs. The triple-action brush roller can be switched on and off as needed. It also has the SmartSeal system that traps allergens in the vacuum cleaner.
Bissell Air Ram 1984
Estimated Price: $210
This vacuum has a 22V Lithium-ion battery and delivers up to 40 minutes of powerful, fade-free suction across carpets, hard floors, and area rugs. The AirRam is ultra-light weighing less than 1 pound, and with swivel steering and a lay-flat handle, it maneuvers easily under and around furniture. It also includes a removable dirt bin with a built-in, slider that pushes out dirt and debris for a mess-free empty.
Bissell Pet Hair Eraser 1650A Vacuum
Estimated Price: $280
The roller brush in the Bissell Pet Hair Eraser does not collect hair in the bristles avoiding tangles. It also has the Pet Turbo Eraser tool. This offers the superior cleaning of a powerful roller brush in a compact size that’s perfect for cleaning upholstery and hard to reach areas. One of the issues with having pets in the home is odors and allergens. The SmartSeal Allergen system provides clean, allergen-free air. In addition to this, it uses a Febreze odor eliminating filter, leaving the air fresh smelling.
Shark APEX AZ1002 DuoClean With Zero-M Anti-Hair Wrap Technology
Estimated Price: $350
Not only is this vacuum exceptional as a dual-purpose vacuum cleaner for both carpets and hard floors, but it also has the Zero-M system that removes unwanted pet, or human hair that wraps around the brush roll without having to do anything with it. Another bonus for pet owners is the Complete Seal, anti-allergen HEPA air filtration system which removes allergens from the air, as well as pet odors. Noise reduction is another plus and the removable canister instantly transforms it from a proficient upright vacuum into a convenient handheld one.
Dyson Ball Animal 2 Upright Vacuum Cleaner
Estimated Price: $479
The Dyson Ball Animal has precise maneuverability and the ability to clean the whole house with a single light-weight vacuum. The Dyson Ball Allergy version has everything the Dyson Ball Multi-Floor vacuum has plus a few extras like a turbine tool and a soft brush for dusting. It doesn’t work well on stairs, but it picks up all the hair on the carpet, on the cushions, and crumbs on the kitchen floor.
Dyson V11 Animal Cordless Vacuum
Estimated Price: $537
The digital motorized brush roll is ingeniously designed to remove pet hair from any type of floor. Tough nylon bristles get into the carpet fibers with superb cleaning power. At the same time, carbon fiber filaments remove the finest dust from hard floors. There are attachments for not only pet hair, but every other type of household cleaning including the high torque cleaning head, combination tool, mini motorized cleaning head, stubborn dirt brush, and a crevice tool. The kit also includes a remarkable nickel-cobalt-aluminum battery, which provides up to 60-minutes of runtime. To empty the V11, just hold it over the trash can and the dirt drops away at the touch of a button.
iRobot Roomba 980 Vacuum Cleaning Robot
Estimated Price: $884
The Roomba is probably the most famous robotic vacuum cleaner. This model works with an app that allows vacuum scheduling. It knows when to recharge and can return to the location where it left off. At a little under four inches tall, it is less likely to get stuck under the recliner and can better find its way out from under the dining room table. Long pet hair and string are less likely to tangle the vacuum brush prohibiting the vacuum from completing its job.
Thankfully there are many vacuum options out there including handheld, canister, and upright versions priced from the upper $100s to almost $1,000 that are sure to meet your fur-battling needs. In addition to having a great vacuum to tackle hair, keeping your pet well-groomed helps too. Depending on the breed, most dogs need to be groomed monthly. Think of it as a dual-defense (a well-groomed companion and a great vacuum) to those unwanted furry tumbleweeds!
